Why am I STILL charged for shipping even after ADDING $20.00 in Add-Ons Items?!? Not what your email or updates said!!

First of all, we haven’t charged your card yet and actually CANNOT and WILL NOT charge anyone’s card until we first provide you the free shipping credit and the freebies.
This is something we have to do ourselves, manually on the backend. It cannot be triggered automatically by a backer spending a certain amount on add-on items or by where the backer lives.
As stated in one of the survey questions;
“Your discount and freebies will be applied after your surveys are complete, but before you are charged in BackerKit, as long as you qualify. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to BackerKit Support by clicking the, “need help” on your survey.”
Again, ANY and ALL discounts and freebies will be applied AFTER surveys are complete but BEFORE BACKERS ARE CHARGED in BackerKit.
I hope that all makes sense and it is clear.
You WILL receive the free shipping credit and it WILL happen before your credit card is charged.
In fact, we will NOT be charging ANYONE’s card for anything until the middle of November when we are JUST about to push over everyone’s orders to our shipping software and begin packaging, fulfilling and shipping out pledges.
This is for several reasons;

First, to allow backers to modify their shipping address, change their payment information, edit, take away or add more add-on items and therefore qualify for better perks and freebies.

Where is my free lens hood? I completed the three tasks but the complimentary lens hood was NOT included with my order...
Sorry for the trouble my friend! We just emailed out out the coupon code. If the complimentary lens hood was NOT included with your order before you completed your survey, it is because you provided us a different email address on our initial survey/form and that email address did NOT match the email address that you use for your Kickstarter Account.
Anyways, no need to worry! Go back to the survey and head straight over to the add-on section of the survey, and then go ahead and insert the following coupon code in the coupon box;
COMPLIMENTARY UNIVERSAL LENS HOOD ($30)
Technically, that coupon code is NOT a free Universal Lens Hood but a $30.00 credit to anything you want up to that dollar amount in the add-on section. So, if you’d prefer a free 2-PACK of Micro or Magnum lens caps that are valued at the same price as a single lens hood ($30.00) instead of the free lens hood, you can swap the free lens hood for a 2-PACK of lens caps! :)

How much will shipping cost for me?
Domestic Backers ≈ $5.00-$10.00
International Backers (CA, EU, AU/NZ, AZN, SA, etc.) ≈ $8.00-$15.00
The reason for the range when it comes to estimating the shipping costs is to adequately factor in the weight of the package and where it is being shipped to. In addition, the reason we are not charging shipping cost WITHIN the Kickstarter Campaign is because of both the global pandemic currently going on and the fact that we’ll be shipping out everyone’s orders in the 4th quarter of 2020… and that means there is a VERY VERY high likelihood that shipping costs, shipping rates and shipping services could change anywhere from $5-$10 per order depending on where it is being shipped and how much it weighs… With some regions around the world completely shutting down altogether and shipping carriers simply stating, “We’re not shipping there anymore because of the Pandemic” and REALLY have no forewarning from anyone until the very day they notify us. It really sucks, we know.
However, international backers should rest assured knowing the high probability that shipping costs won’t rise above $15.00 thanks to the Universal Lens Hood being so extremely light weight… even to the point of ordering 4-5 of them won’t total more than 1lb. in weight… so it’s not like ANYONE should fear the shipping cost will be similar to shipping out a 4lb. 40k mAh power-bank or something like that where it’s shipping gets outrageous and jumps to $40-$70 to ship it out and then VAT & Import Taxes are thrown on top of that.
NOTE for International Backers: The additional estimated shipping cost of $8.00-$15.00 to your order does NOT include Import Taxes. Please be aware of this additional charge.

Pissed about Shipping Charges even though thoroughly informed.
First, thank you for your support and sorry for the frustration in all this regarding being charged for shipping after the campaign ends.
However we did state several times that shipping charges would be incurred after the campaign ends.
We stated it in every pledge (even the pledge you selected and did so in capitalized letters).
We stated it in every update.
We stated it as one of the FAQs on our campaign page and even provided estimates as to the range of the shipping costs for domestic and international backers.
In the future though, we’ll put even more effort into informing backers of this surcharge to avoid confusion and frustration.

What size lens hood should I get?
Sizing is determined by your lens’ barrel diameter (measured in millimeters or ‘mm’), not the lens’ filter thread.
The diameter of a lens’ barrel is equal to or larger than the lens’ filter thread. This measurement is shown on all lenses and comes after the “Ø” symbol on your lens.
| If your lenses filter thread diameters are between Ø49mm to Ø76mm, then the S | 54 will work best for your lenses! |
| If your lenses filter thread diameters are between Ø72mm to Ø112mm, then the M | 72 would be the best size for your lenses! |
| S | 54 easily stretches and fits over lens barrel diameters between 54mm up to 76mm. It works best with smaller mirrorless lenses, micro 4/3 lenses, vintage lenses and small SLR lenses. |

Having trouble with finding their coupon code or complimentary lens hood.
After the survey, did you pass the Add-Ons page in your survey? It’s at this point that you will choose the sizing of your complimentary lens hood.
If it is not there, have you checked the ‘spam’ folder of your email? The coupon code might be there.
If neither of those are the case, not a problem at all. Simply reach out to us via email at [email protected] and let us know that you’ve attempted to find the lens hood in those additional locations we suggested and we’ll be sure to get it all sorted out and get you that free lens hood.

Why am I being charged for shipping still even though I included add-on items to my cart?
No need to panic! In Update #7 we went into excruciating detail about this very point… 12 paragraphs to be exact.
No card has been charged yet, including yours. We will be removing the shipping cost from all backer orders BEFORE charging anyone’s cards -so long as they qualify-.
In brief, you did everything right. At this point just hold tight and we’ll adjust your order and remove the shipping cost before charging your’s or anyone else’s cards.

Can we choose sizing of the free lens caps if we spend $35 or more on add-on items?
Yes. You will be able to choose the size for the free lens caps. You can choose either Micro or Magnum.
Micro fits 54mm-76mm. Magnum fits 72mm-122mm.
Please note that both lens caps will be the same size…e.g. you cannot get one Micro and One magnum. In addition, you cannot substitute the free lens caps for the Original v1 Universal Lens Cap size. It’s either 2 Micros or 2 Magnums. That is it.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
